Why would you choose to disable AdBlue, and what is its purpose? The AdBlue module is designed to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) levels. But what does NOx actually mean? At high temperatures, chemical reactions occur, for example, between nitrogen (N2) and oxygen (O2) in the air. Nitrogen monoxide (NO) is quickly converted into nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in the exhaust air, and the combination of NO and NO2 is referred to as nitrogen oxides (NOx). AdBlue is injected into the exhaust system directly upstream of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) catalyst.
Bij katalytische reductie (SCR) wordt het uitlaatgas door een katalysator geleid, waardoor het proces efficiënter en bij lagere temperaturen plaatsvindt. In het geval van niet-katalytische reductie (SNCR) verloopt het proces zonder katalysator.
